The Project for Critical Research, Pedagogy and Praxis (PCRP)
Welcome to the PCRP homepage
The Project for Critical Research, Pedagogy and Praxis (PCRP) is an interdisciplinary teaching and research project at the the University of North Carolina, Greensboro (UNCG, USA) and the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). PCRP prepares and mentors students from the undergraduate to PhD level to be future classroom teachers, postgraduate students, and researchers who address educational equity and social justice issues.
Originally conceptualized by Dr. Benji Chang in 2015, PCRP's vision is to develop an educational pipeline for educators and researchers to actively work on issues of equity and social justice in education. Since its origins, PCRP has gone on to conduct research, seminars, and collaborations with educational institutions in Australia, South Korea, the Philippines, mainland China, and Canada.
PCRP's current project in 2022-2023 focuses on working with teachers to develop skills in critical dialogue and participatory action research (PAR) in order to promote more humanizing participatory structures and spaces between students, teachers, and racially minoritized communities. The project is funded by the Coalition for Diversity in Language and Culture (CDLC) at UNCG.
